Designers ushered in a Technicolor fever dream of bold, bright hues in footwear for fall 2018. Balenciaga continued its neon thigh-high sock boots and pantashoes from previous seasons; Pyer Moss sent a bright yellow mule with an architectural heel down the runway; Hermès made us want to swap out our black leather boots for eye-grabbing orange ones. Brown is definitely the new black in Autumn 2018. Brown leather and suede shoes and boots have been favoured by the likes of Chloé (the entire collection was pretty much an homage to brown) and Fendi for A/W 18. Already we’ve seen every possible shade cropping up within summer’s artsy, minimalist boho look (where linen, raffia and ecru tones are all key), so it’s a trend you can invest in already.
