MONDAY MOTIVATION: HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

1. MAKE A TO-DO LIST
As humans we tend to put a lot of pressure on our brain by memorizing a lot of things, it turns out good for some but majority tend to forget. It is important to always write down the things we need to do, in order to keep track of them all. Get a diary, a piece of paper or a to-do list app. 



2. PUT NEEDS ABOVE WANTS
Needs point out to something you need for survival (important, urgent) while Wants refers to something which is good to have but not important. In order to achieve our goal we need to know the difference between these two.



3. SET A TIME LIMIT
Yes give yourself a deadline to get those things done and if possible beg one of your friends to help you monitor your progress.



4. TAKE AWAY DISTRACTIONS
Distractions like social media, games, shopping can lead to procrastination. Try to do away with them, remember you have a goal to achieve, don't be weak.


5. MANAGE STRESS
In the journey to achieving your goal, there's every chance you might get stressed, when this happens find time and a way to relax. Hang out with your friends or cook yourself a good meal.


6. SET PRAGMATIC GOALS
You need to be realistic in setting your goals, do not write down a list of what you cannot achieve because it might  become overwhelming for you.



7. TAKE A BREAK
Just like managing your stress, take a break once in a while, it helps you cool down. Go get a massage, eat out, go to the movies and continue from where you left off. Do not take prolonged break though, because then you might feel less motivated to continue.



8. STAY MOTIVATED
Keep the fire burning by getting active, take a long stroll, attend some gym sessions. Exercises has been proven to help people maintain their concentration, so exercise today. Also, read books or read about people in your situation and how they made it, it keeps you motivated. 



9. ASK FOR HELP WHEN NECESSARY
You cannot do it all by yourself, at some point it becomes too much and when that time comes do not be afraid to ask for assistance.



10. TREAT YOURSELF
When you are able to complete one of the assignment on your list, give yourself a treat and look forward to the next one.
