FASHION SERIES #1. 10 TRENDY AUTUMN FASHION 2018

1. ANIMAL PRINT
Animal print doesn't seem to be fading anytime soon, i must say it's here to stay. Rather than continuing with the leopard print that was in abundance over the summer, fashion changed hands or style in this sense and delivered unto us all Zebra, Giraffe, Snake skin and Tiger prints thus making them the animal print trend of Autumn 2018.

2. LATEX. VINYL. PLASTIC
Who would have thought that gloss would look this good on the body. This years' Fashion week latex, vinyl, patent were the main course from Adam Selman and Miu Miu waxed red leather to Chanel's full-gloss Metallics and Fendi's high shine trench.

3. LEATHER
Belted and zip-embellished at Sonia Rykiel and Alexander McQueen; ankle-length yet powerfully seductive at Loewe; shirt-shaped and smart at Hermès, Tod's, and Givenchy, this season the leather will become your Messiah when it comes to those difficult-to-dress-for invites. Invest now.

4. CABLE KNIT CARDIGAN
Who says a cardigan has to be casual or indoors. Try pairing it with jeans or leather pants for the office or wearing it over a cocktail dress and a sequined skirt (then you have parrtyy) .

5. TWEED
Flecked with lilac on boyish belted jumpsuits at Emilia Wickstead, blown into extravagant eighties' proportions at Marc Jacobs, blurred through boucle at Chanel and given pink and black supersized punkiness at Miu Miu, this season’s tweed is best paired with something unexpected; a slouchy granddad jacket paired with a pretty prairie dress like Calvin Klein, or a prim tweed pencil skirt paired with sporty intarsia knits like Louis Vuitton.

6. DOUBLE COATED
First came Balenciaga’s brilliant double-duvet coat situation, quickly followed by Margiela and Roksanda's equally OTT puffer layering.
Elsewhere Alexander McQueen topped mannish blazers with cropped leather biker jackets and Givenchy layered fur capes over tweed. How to avoid looking like a walking blanket?  Cinch your waist with a belted under-layer as exhibited at Rochas and on sunnier days don’t discount trench coats, denim and leather.

7. PADDED JACKETS
Comfort-wear was a red thread through the Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 shows, producing duvet-like volume in new proportions at Alexander McQueen, a little more classic at Chanel and mash-up in hi-tech fabrics at Sacai. Everyday armor for modern life.

8. HIGH SHOULDERS

In variations on a theme that is as prevalent as ever, fashion continues its romance with the 1980s by supersizing shoulders. Ever more extreme versions are  exaggerated, leading the fight for fashion from the front.

9. SCARF PRINTS
From florals to bandana patterns and arty twists, this season, scarf prints were worn all over the body and flirted with all things kitsch. A fashion craze sure to take off, it plays on traditional conventions and styles, throwing caution to the wind for a look as glamorous as it is fun.

10. CAPES.
For anyone who wants to feel comfortable in their clothes come what may, the cape makes its come-back at just the right time.
