MONDAY MOTIVATION: THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF CONFIDENCE

  

Confidence, according to psychology today, is believing in oneself and capabilities, having a strong conviction that you can face the challenges of life and succeed. In addition, confidence comes from a feeling of well being and acceptance of the body and mind, it is something you create within yourself.

Many people struggle with this, for various reasons like;

* Obsession with perfection

* Self loathing

* Over sensitivity

* Anxiety

* Low self esteem and many more.

But like I said in the definition above, self confidence is something you create within yourself, it may be hard to achieve but with consistency, patience and a good mindset you can achieve this.

Here are some reasons why self confidence is important and why you should strive to attain it.

1. Happiness

Self confidence delights your spirit, it enables you to enjoy life to the fullest.

2. More Strength and Competence

You notice that you will become stronger and more powerful. When self confidence sets in, you stop feeling crippled or incapable of facing challenges.

3. Weakened Anti-social Behaviour

Self confidence helps to boost your self-esteem, you feel more secure in your own skin and you worry less about what others think of you. This attitude helps in social situations.

4.You embrace your authenticity 

Self confidence helps to reveal who you really are. You recognize your flaws and weaknesses, and you are able to accept them, knowing they won't change your self-worth. 

5. Good Health and Sound Mind

When you are confident in yourself, you have little to nothing to worry about, you don't get anxious or doubt yourself. Having this attitude lets you sleep well at night, gives you appetite for food, makes you mentally, physically and spiritually active which leads to good health and sound mind.
