REASONS WHY WE HATE SCHOOL

School is a special time for everybody. We make new friends and acquire knowledge necessary for our future life, or so they say. However, what everyone will agree on is that every one of us students hated school.  Here's why:

1. EXPENSIVE – I believe this applies to everyone, in fact study shows that 66% of graduates from public colleges had student loans. 75% of graduates from private nonprofit colleges had student loans. 88% of graduates from for-profit colleges had student loans. Average debt levels for all graduating seniors with student loans rose to $29,400 in 2012 — a 25% increase from $23,450 in 2008 (Culled from ticas.org).

2. YOU REMEMBER ALMOST NOTHING – This happens to 70% of students, once we step out of the school gate everything we have learnt just flies out of our memory and that’s if we were even listening in the first place.

3. TOO MUCH HOMEWORK – Hmmm I know right, studies have shown that over 90% of students are sleep deprived, because we stay up all night trying to get homework done or trying to do a research for the next day’s topic and 50% of parents are not aware that their children aren’t getting enough sleep. Furthermore, because of loads of homework, students lack spare time for other activities.

4. IT’S EXHAUSTING – School makes you wake up early in the morning and sleep late at night, then it makes you go through 6-8 hours of lectures with just 10 minutes break per each lecture, plus It is even worse when you live far away from school *whew*.

5. UNREALISTIC – School does not set you up for the real world, it doesn’t really explain to you what challenges you are bound to face when you graduate. Teachers tell you to strive harder and get good grades, that without that you would not a good job and you might end up as a cleaner #lies#. There are so many great people who didn’t go to school or dropped out and are great today.

6. BULLIES – They come in all shapes and sizes, they also come in form of teachers or students. I think bullying is more common in school than in workplaces, the teacher bullies you when you are a slow learner, and you get bullied by students if you are a nerd or as they like to put it “not cool”.
